The shelf

These are the Field Guides – the books, courses and workbooks I've written over the last decade or so. Each one is a self-contained piece of work built around a capability worth having on its own terms.

How to see the journey an idea travels before it becomes something valuable. How to land an idea cleanly and with confidence from the stage. How to communicate clearly when it matters. How to design a workshop that teaches rather than performs. How the everyday behaviours of good work actually operate. How to hold on to yourself when work threatens to take up all the room.

The principle underneath all of them: learning is information in action. Don't just read it – use it.

A note on paths. If you want the calm entry point into the whole practice, start with The Life of an Idea. If you're an independent or solo operator making your own way, From Idea to Sustainable Work is written for you. And the full Practitioner's Handbook – the deepest expression of Idea to Value, for people doing this work daily inside organisations – lives inside Studio, alongside the seminars, working notes, and monthly Department of Interesting Things editions.
